small, family owned and operated vineyard and winery located in the
Smith Mountain Lake area of Virginia. Nestled in the foothills of
the Blue Ridge Mountains on the east side of Smith Mountain Lake,
the vineyard was once a cattle farm and the winery was once the
homestead. The picnic area overlooks the vineyard and is shaded by
a beautiful old ash tree. This quiet, country setting is perfect
for relaxing afternoons while enjoying the simple pleasures in life.
We

Valhalla Vineyards has
been growing grapes and producing award winning estate
wines from a 2000ft. mountaintop overlooking Roanoke
Virginia since 1998. Our 21 acre vineyard produces
world class cabernet sauvignon, syrah, merlot,
chardonnay, cab franc and more. Its decomposing granite
soils and unique climate (similar to Rhone Valley of
France) afford the premiere terrier on the East
Coast.
Join us
April 1 through Dec 16, 2007 on Fridays 4-7 (closed
Friday in Nov. & Dec), Saturdays 12-5 and Sundays 1-5
for tours of our Vineyard, winery and Barrel Cave,
elegant tasting in the Cellar Door with breath taking
vistas, and picnicking under our timber frame patio or
on our sunlit mountain top deck. Just minutes from
Interstate 81 or the Blue Ridge parkway you'll feel a
world away-with wines worthy of the experience.
